Founded recently in 2017, Oyster Real Estate is one of the newest and most exciting real estate agent companies operating in Malta and Gozo.

Oyster Real Estate was founded by Miguel Bonello, Annabelle Bonello Lowell, and Malcolm Lowell. Each of the founders came to the business with extensive experience in the luxury market at Edwards Lowell Ltd where they sold high-quality goods and were exclusive distributors of Swiss brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Chopard, and others.

Very much focused on providing a dedicated and customised property search service, Oyster Real Estate currently focuses solely on the luxury, high-end properties in Malta and Gozo.

The Branch Network

Due to the exclusive nature and the newness of their business, as of 2020, Oyster has just the one branch which also acts as head office. The branch is in Portomaso in St. Julian’s.

Oyster Real Estate Employees

Although exact agent numbers are not available for Oyster Real Estates, it can be assumed that due to the single branch location, the total staff number including management, admin and dedicated agents is lower than that of any real estate company with multiple branches. LinkedIn lists the number of employees as between 2-10.

Showcased on the front page of the website are homes with a sea view, penthouses, houses of character and those exclusive to Oyster (i.e. listings not available at any other estate agency in Malta.) They also have a section dedicated to homes in Special Designated Areas).

Rental properties are also dealt with on the same criteria as sales, i.e., they need to be high-end or exceptional. As of the current time, Oyster do not offer a property management service to landlords.

Commission and Fees

Whilst exact commission figures cannot be found, it is highly likely that Oyster Real Estate follows the standard 5% commission fee for property sales, with the potential for a reduced 3.5% fee if sole agency is agreed upon.
